For us, celebration means to consolidate our existing services and enhancing our work/efforts/services to serve more and more eye patients at their door step as they are old and blind as well.
Trustees with eminent personalities like Mr. Mahmood Akhtar (Ex marketing director, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Center), Abdul Razzaq (Public Health Director, NHS UK), Dr. Anwar ul Haq, FRCS (Senior Ophthalmologist from UK), Dr. Idrees Ahmad, FRCS (Senior Ophthalmologist from Sharif Medical City, Lahore), Professor Zafar Hussain Iqbal, FRCS (Jinnah Hospital Lahore), Abid Abbas (Senior HR & Management Consultant from UK) participated in Strategic Planning Agenda meeting. Five years performance has been reviewed and future growth has been discussed and decisions taken.
As a part of these 8 years celebrations, Jannat Aziz Eye Hospital organized 3 Days Free Eye Clinic at Sahuka (30 km towards bank of river Satluj) fom February 23 to 25, 2010. We treated, provided medicine and spectacles to 1375 patients absolutely FREE. 130 patients were operated for cataract and IOL implanted at Jannat Aziz Eye Hospital. Pick and drop facility was also provided to the operated patients. It demonstrates that there is a serious need to go deep and serve in these far flanged and neglected rural areas
To meet the expanding requirements of the hospital, a new state of the art operation theatre complex including conference/ training room & library has been approved in strategic agenda meeting. We have started working on planning phase so that project would be initiated at the earliest.
We have organized dinner for our hospital staff to celebrate 8 years successful service to the nation. It was a very fruitful and productive social gathering. 8 years journey has been reviewed and prominent stories were shared by our colleagues who are with us from day one.
